High Quality Tpu Material

High Quality Tpu Material
Details:
High-quality TPU materials refer to thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer materials that meet high industry standards in core indicators such as mechanical properties, processing stability, environmental resistance, and application compatibility. They combine the high elasticity of rubber with the thermoplastic processability of plastics, and their performance fluctuation range is far lower than that of general-grade TPU. high quality TPU material includes Polyester-Based TPU, Polyether-Based TPU, Aliphatic TPU, Aromatic TPU, Opaque TPU, High-Softening-Point TPU, Low-Temperature Resistant TPU.

What is High Quality TPU Material

What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of High-Quality TPU Materials

Advantages

  • Superior mechanical properties: Boasting a broad hardness range (Shore A 60–D 80), it delivers ≥30 MPa tensile strength, ≥400% elongation at break, and wear resistance 5–10 times that of natural rubber. With an elastic recovery rate ≥85%, it resists permanent deformation after repeated stress.
  • Excellent processability: Features stable melt flow index (MFI), enabling uniform plasticization and high-precision molding via injection/ extrusion/ blow molding without bubbles or shrinkage. Leftovers are 100% recyclable with ≥90% performance retention, cutting costs.
  • Strong environmental durability: Retains elasticity at -40℃; regular grades withstand 80–120℃ long-term (special grades up to 150℃). Hydrolysis/ oil-resistant variants resist water, mineral/ vegetable oils without swelling, while anti-UV grades avoid outdoor yellowing/ aging.
  • Safety & compliance: Food-contact grades meet FDA/ LFGB standards (no odor/ toxins); medical grades offer biocompatibility for human-contact devices.
  • Versatile adaptability: Customizable into grades for high-end consumer electronics, automotive parts, medical devices and sports goods.

Disadvantages
Higher cost vs. general TPU/ TPE/ PVC due to complex production and premium raw materials, unsuitable for low-budget applications.
Limited high-temperature endurance: Long-term use above 150℃ causes performance decline or decomposition, lagging behind POM/ PC.
Poor resistance to strong polar solvents (ketones/ esters), leading to swelling or degradation.
Stringent processing requirements: Demands precise temperature/ pressure control; improper parameters trigger decomposition, surface defects or unstable performance.
