What is EVA Plastic Granules?

 

 

EVA plastic granules, or ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer granules, are thermoplastic polymer granular materials synthesized by the copolymerization of two monomers: ethylene and vinyl acetate.
EVA plastic granules can be classified into many kinds of items according to different standards. EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) plastic granules are versatile thermoplastic copolymers, with pros and cons tied to vinyl acetate (VA) content.


Performance is adjustable via VA content-low VA (5%–10%) offers rigidity and heat resistance like PE; high VA (20%–40%) provides flexibility, toughness and adhesion similar to rubber. It supports diverse processing (injection molding, extrusion, foaming, blow molding) for mass production, and has excellent low-temperature resistance, remaining flexible at -50°C without brittleness. Food/ medical-grade EVA is non-toxic, BPA-free and safe for food packaging, toys and medical devices. It resists weak acids, alkalis and most solvents, with good aging resistance, and high-VA EVA bonds well with metals, fabrics and plastics for adhesives.

 

    Below is the introduction to the parameters, functions and practical processing technology of EVA

 

VA plastic granules are made from ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer. They come with typical VA content of 14%, 18%, 28% and 40%. The melt index (MI) tested at 190℃/2.16kg ranges from 2.5 to 52 g/10min. Density is between 0.92 and 0.98 g/cm³. Melting point is 47–89℃, and Vicat softening point is 50–70℃. Brittle temperature can reach as low as -60 to -76℃. Tensile strength is 10–20 MPa, with elongation at break of 200–700%. Hardness is Shore A 60–90, and flammability meets UL94 HB standard.

Processing requirements:Dry at 70–80℃ for 1–2 hours before production.Recommended injection temperature: 160–200℃.Mold temperature: 20–45℃.

By precisely adjusting VA content and molecular structure, and applying a special foaming additive system, we quickly provided a customized high-performance EVA pellet solution.
